Compress a PDF down to the MB you need
Type the maximum size (2 MB, 5 MB, 10 MB…) and see before processing what it would end at. Only heavy pages are touched; text pages stay intact.
How to do it
- Load the PDFIt is analyzed page by page to find the heavy ones.
- Type the MB you needThe preview shows the current size, the pages with images and the expected result.
- Compress and downloadOnly the necessary pages are converted, heaviest first, until the file is under the limit.
Why do it in your browser
Compressing is the most used feature of PDF sites, and the one that receives the most personal files: people compress to attach to an email or upload to a government portal. Here compression happens on your device, and it tells you beforehand whether the target is reachable.
Frequently asked questions
Does it lose quality?
Text pages do not change. Pages with images or scans are converted to lower-resolution images; never below 72 dpi, so they stay readable. On those pages the text is no longer selectable.
Can I compress to 2 MB or 1 MB?
Yes, to any size. If the PDF is all text and already light, the preview warns you there is little to reduce.
How does it count MB?
1 MB = 1,000,000 bytes. That way you stay under the limit whether the portal counts in decimal or binary.
